EN "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" is the second book of the saga in the world of magic written by J. K. Rowling and published on July 2, 1998. This book revolves around the legend of the Chamber of Secrets, located at Hogwarts School, which they were completely unaware of its whereabouts. The writer previously mentioned that this was one of the most difficult books to write because she was afraid to disappoint her audience due to the success of the first book of the saga. However, she also confided that it is also one of her favorite books.
In this second year at Hogwarts, Harry faces a great challenge because, in addition to the dangers ahead, he sees his colleagues distrust him and “elect” him as the Heir of Slytherin. However, before the year at the magic school begins, Harry finds his journey to the school difficult because someone did not want him to go back there. It is later realized that this someone was trying to protect him, but the means used to stop him caused him to have several accidents, including some of the destruction of Ron's parents' car.
But the real challenge lies in the school when the Chamber of Secrets is opened and the monster that inhabits it begins to attack the students who are not "pure blood" with the intention of killing them. Although the students begin to appear petrified, which symbolizes a lesser evil amid the chaos that settles in the school of magic. Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue to develop their friendship further which intensifies when Hermione is attacked by the monster and becomes completely petrified. Harry and Ron go to great lengths to find the chamber but find their efforts hampered by several challenges they face. At last, when they finally find it, they cannot imagine the imminent danger that approaches them.
"It's not our attitudes that show who we really are; it's our choices.”
This was one of the books that I liked the most but still it was not my favorite of the saga. I really liked the introduction of Dobby's character, who further on will be shown as someone very relevant. Besides that, I also really enjoyed the interaction of the characters and the way the writer described the events that are happening. There are no dead moments which leads us to want to know more and more. Still, I thought the chapters could be a bit smaller as it would provide a better reading experience.
But obviously I continue to highly recommend the continuation of this story of magic and the life of Harry Potter that I know has already conquered thousands of people throughout the world.
