Harry Potter e a Pedra Filosofal (J.K.Rowling)

EN Harry Potter is one of the greatest sagas of books and films in the world and few are the people who do not know the world of magic of Hogwarts. I must admit that I watched the movies long before I read any of the books, but curiosity has always haunted me. I was sure if I loved the movies, then I would love the books even more. And that's exactly what happened.

"Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone" tells us the beginning of Harry's adventure in the world of magic. The story begins with Dumbledore leaving Harry, still a baby, with his uncles, after the death of his parents provoked by Lord Voldemort. After this event, Voldemort disappeared, and many believed that he was dead. The only certainty was that the Dark Lord had disappeared, the war had ceased, and that the sorcerer's world could return to normal. Eleven years later, Harry lives with his uncles and cousin and is rather neglected. His room is a small annex under the stairs, he wears worn clothes of his cousin, which are, by the way, quite large for him. However, that was the only life that Harry knew. But everything changes on his birthday, when Hagrid knocks on the door of a cabin where his uncles were trying to hide him and tells him the whole truth about his existence and about magic. Hagrid then takes Harry to Hogwarts and that's where his whole adventure begins, in which he goes through all the emotions, realizes his fame, makes great friendships, and goes through many dangers.

The version of the book is much more detailed, and it is impossible to fit everything into a movie, so it is obvious when we see certain scenes altered or even cut. A lot had to be adapted. However, the two versions are brilliant, but I know in my heart that I will always choose books. Books let you use your imagination; let you dream and enjoy the experience as you like. Whereas in the movies, the ideas are a little inserted, being able to get away from that concept that you had imagined.

I highly recommend this book, whether it is for young people or adults, I believe it will be a real entertainment that can please several ages. Although the chapters are a bit long, the language and the writing are quite fluid which holds us to the book. We just really want to finish the adventure and start the next one. It will always be one of my favorite sagas.
