EN "The Viscount Who Loved Me" is the second book in the Bridgerton saga, originally published in December 2000, it was written by Julia Quinn, an author quite recognized by the genre of historical romances in which we can place this book. I must confess that this type of genre attracts me very much, whereby the novel is full of naughtiness and sharp answers that makes us absorb the feelings of anger that the characters show, mixed with the passion that their consciousness still does not know.

This story focuses on the eldest son of the Bridgerton family, the Viscount named Anthony who, finally accepting that he must look for a wife to continue his father's legacy, decides to integrate himself into London's season and with it becomes the most desirable gentleman. With the idea of marrying for convenience and not for love, Anthony plots a plan to conquer Edwina, the half-sister of Kate Sheffield, a woman who at the time was considered a “spinster” and who wanted at all costs to marry her half-sister to a good man with a good reputation. Edwina, despite appreciating the Viscount's advances, would not accept a man that Kate did not approve of or give her blessing. Obviously, this setback is terrible for Anthony because he sees himself in the obligation to conquer both, something that will not be easy, since his reputation as a rake precedes him. Kate is a woman with a firm wrist and a real opponent to the viscount, who little by little are realizing that they have much more in common with each other than what they want to accept.

“You have to live each hour as if it's your last and each day as if you were immortal.”

My favorite character is Kate. I fell in love, I understood her personality, and I loved the way she handled Anthony, forcing him to lose his provocative side and show his more concerned and caring one. Their relationship was based on this dance of provocations, which made the love involvement between the two very intense, something that the writer managed to transpose very well in words. I really liked the way they addressed the irrational fears of the two characters, which, in Anthony's case, was proved unfounded. Still, and since it was the cause of his father's death, it is understanding his fear and resignation because he thought his future could be the same.

I am really looking forward to seeing how they will bring this second book to the screens, as they did the first. The bar is very high, hence my curiosity. But I'm sure anyone who reads the story will not regret it, because Quinn knows how to trap us in a plot, from start to finish.
