OFF (Zé Manel)

PT O álbum “OFF” do cantor português Zé Manel marcou o meu ano passado e ainda tem deixado as suas marcas neste ano.

Totalmente composto em português, uma estreia para o músico, é o seu primeiro álbum com o seu próprio nome, após projetos com o grupo Fingertips e como Darko. Nele temos colaborações com vários artistas do panorama nacional como, por exemplo, José Cid e Surma, mas existe ainda uma participação especial, da vocalista da banda Sixpence None the Ritcher, Leigh Nash.

O álbum é composto por 12 faixas, na versão física, e 13 faixas na versão digital, sendo a faixa extra intitulada “Ontem Morreu”. Ao longo das várias músicas é-nos contada uma história verídica de amor, sentida em cada palavra do cantor, uma experiência vivenciada entre 2012 e 2014. Esta história foi tão marcante para o músico que o próprio refere que lhe trouxe “riqueza suficiente para a querer aprisionar num disco”.

A verdade é que tenho um carinho especial por este álbum, principalmente porque tive a oportunidade de o ouvir ao vivo, no Teatro Diogo Bernardes, em Ponte de Lima, no dia 30 de Novembro do ano passado. Neste concerto foi possível confirmar todo o carinho e sentimento em torno deste álbum e isso mostra o quão especial ele é para o artista.

As faixas que mais me marcaram foram “Setembro” e “Dezembro”, muito provavelmente devido à nostalgia e melancolia associadas a ambas as músicas.

EN The album "OFF" by the Portuguese singer Zé Manel has affected my last year and still is leaving is marks this year.

Completely written in Portuguese, which is a first to this singer, this is the first album with his own name, after years of projects with the band Fingertips and under the name of Darko. In this album we have collaborations with several national artists such as José Cid and Surma. And we have also a special collaboration from the vocalist of the band Sixpence None the Ritcher, Leigh Nash.

The album is composed by 12 tracks, in the physical version, and 13 tracks in the digital version, being the extra track named "Ontem Morreu". Throughout the songs, the singer is telling us a true love story, which we can feel in every word sung. He lived this experience between 2012 and 2014. This story was so memorable to the singer that he describes it as something that brought him "enough treasure to want to imprison it in a record".

The truth is that I have a special affection for this album, mainly because I had the opportunity to listen it live, at the Diogo Bernardes theatre, in Ponte de Lima, on November 30 of last year. In this concert I could confirm all the love and emotion around this album and how special it is to the artist.

The tracks that I most appreciate is "Setembro" and "Dezembro", most likely due to the nostalgia and the melancholy associated with both songs.
